If we were having coffee, I'd tell you about the weather around here and share a few good articles I've read this month. Feel tree to brew yourself a cup and get ready for another post from the Pour Over series.
Riding the Train in California
Some people think that the only trains available in California are the light rail lines limited to areas like Los Angeles County and the Bay Area. Riding the train for a long distance trip from say, Palm Springs to San Francisco, seemed like something only available on the East Coast. But you can take a train ride from Northern to Southern California. In this post I will share a few tips for riding the train.

Baker & China Beach
It may be odd to talk about the beach in the fall season but the nice thing about living on the coast is that you get to enjoy the beach during the whole year. There are plenty of beaches in the Bay Area and I got to take some pictures of Baker and China Beach… Continue reading Baker & China Beach
Murals At the Transit Center
This blog post is about the new Transit Center in San Francisco. I took a few pictures of the place when it opened a few months ago. It is a three story building with a bus terminal on the 2nd level and park on the 3rd. The rooftop park the most popular feature and is often compared to the High Line in New York. There are plenty of pictures of this on social media but I wanted to share some photos of the murals painted on the exterior walls. Enjoy!
San Francisco 2018 Juneteenth Festival
I went to the 2018 Juneteenth festival in San Francisco a few weeks ago. It took place on Fillmore Street in the Western Addition Neighborhood. The event was well attended and I was able to get a few good photos. I missed the parade but I was still able to see the car show, eat delicious food and checkout some of the business in the Bay Area.

Thankful
By the time this post is published, Thanksgiving day will be over. The leftover turkey and fixings will have been placed in containers and packed in the fridge. Clean dishes will be stacked and left near the kitchen sink to dry overnight. My parent's dinning room, which would be filled with the sounds of the chatter and laughs of bonding family on Thanksgiving day, will now be cleaned and quiet, ready for the next meal.
Learning, Moving & Traveling
Sometimes I will go to a cafe to write and enjoy a cup of coffee. The atmosphere of the coffee shop can be both calming and energizing. The sounds of bartsias brewing beans and steaming cream combined with the chatter of people working on projects or just catching up with friends creates a gentle hum perfect… Continue reading Learning, Moving & Traveling
Well Done
I didn't grow up on raw meat or fish. In fact it wasn't until I reached by 20's that I learned that one could have a steak other than "well-done". Ok maybe that is an exaggeration but it's safe to say that the words "rare" or "medium rare" were never spoken in my parents' kitchen.… Continue reading Well Done
